Description
My Fig and Quince Wallpaper derives from a series of watercolor paintings that were inspired by vintage wallpaper. I mixed classic patterns with natural elements with bright colors to give the wallpaper a vintage feel with a modern twist.
Process
I started this project by hand sketching a simple quince and fig pattern that I outlined in ink and filled in with watercolor paints. I translated this into a digital illustration using Adobe Illustrator and used gradients to mimic the variations in the watercolor shades. I then worked on the arrangement of the fruit, leaves and flowers to create a seamless pattern.
